Swift Verruca Treatment
Finally a solution for stubborn warts and verruca.
How does the Swift treatment work?
Unlike most treatments, which are designed to destroy the skin, the Swift treatment uses thermal energy to heat the skin and produce an immune response. The body's immune system is very sensitive to heat, and reaching a temperature of 41-43°C (known as the “hyperthermia” zone) produces a stronger effect, helping the body naturally clear the virus that causes warts and verrucae.
I have tried other verruca treatments. What makes Swift different?
The biggest benefit of the Swift treatment is the high chance of success. Warts and verrucae are notoriously difficult to treat, and many patients have suffered with the condition for years. In clinical studies Swift has been shown to be around 86% effective, meaning most patients successfully get rid of their warts and verrucae.
Swift is also quick to administer: the treatment is applied as repeated energy doses, usually only a few seconds each.
There is no specific aftercare and no dressings, and you can return to your normal daily activities straight after treatment.
If you decide to have Swift during your first appointment, we will waive the initial consultation fee.
Who cannot have Swift?
Swift is not suitable if any of these apply to you:
- High-risk diabetic feet or neuropathy
- Pregnancy
- Metal implants in the foot or ankle
- A pacemaker

Questions
Can Swift be used on hands and fingers?
Yes, definitely. Swift is highly effective at treating warts on the fingers and hands.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on how your immune system responds to the Swift heat shock. We will book four treatments, a month apart. There is no need to pay up front. If the verrucae have not resolved by the fourth treatment, then we will review, in four months' time, if a fifth treatment is necessary.
Is Swift safe for children?
Yes. Swift is used widely around the world with children, including in children's hospitals in the UK. We will give you guidance on treatment choices for your child at the first consultation. We generally treat children over 10, depending on the child.
Does Swift hurt?
Like all treatments for warts and verrucae, there is some pain at the point of treatment. It is usually very brief, felt for just a second or two, and stops when the treatment stops. It is rare for pain to continue afterwards, and the vast majority of patients carry on with their day as normal.
Is there any aftercare?
No specific aftercare and no dressings. You can return to your normal activities straight away.
How do I pay?
All fees are paid on the day of your visit. We take card payments.
Can I claim the cost back from my insurer?
We will give you a receipt so you can claim from your insurer, and we can provide information for insurance companies. To find out how you could claim back your money for podiatric care, visit Simplyhealth.
