Heel Pain and Plantar Fasciitis

Pain under the heel, especially with your first steps in the morning.

Heel pain

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. It usually hurts under the heel or along the arch, and is often worst with the first few steps in the morning or after sitting for a while.

Not all heel pain is plantar fasciitis. A full biomechanical assessment is required for any diagnosis around the heel.

How we can help

We would recommend a biomechanical assessment for plantar fasciitis and general heel pain. The advice and treatment given is quite prescriptive. This will include assessment, chair side insoles, and specific advice on exercises, as well as footwear assessment.

Plantar fasciitis will resolve, but can take a little while. Following the podiatrist's advice will speed along your recovery.
